As a player and as a leader, Pat Cripps is an undeniable presence every time he takes the field. Captain of his club and the most effective midfielders at the centre clearance in the AFL, Pat leads by example and combines elite preparation with an insatiable determination to lift his teammates around him. He sets the standard for professionalism and effort both on and off the field as he leads the Blues’ next generation of youngsters up the ladder.

The journey to Captain

Carlton selected Cripps with the 13th pick in the 2013 National Draft, making his senior debut in Round 4, 2014. 2015 saw Patrick explode on the scene to finish second in the AFL Rising Star award. He returned from injury as vice-captain in 2018 and went on to be awarded the captaincy at the age of 24.
